Amazing Marathon matches, Bangkok City Run 2019

[Sunday Times: Chris Lee Reporter]Amazing Marathon matches, 3000 marathon runners and 40 disabled athletes.

Early Sunday 4 August at 4am on Chaiyapruek road, Bangkok looks like hundreds of Thai marathon runners gather and get ready for a marathon 8km and 16km.

Not long after, 40 athletes with disabilities came to the place.  Some of them ▲Phutaret Kongrak (wheelchair racing athlete), ▲Hanruchai Natesiri(archery athlete), ▲Saysunee Jana(wheelchair fencer), ▲PattayabTedtong(Boccia athlete), ▲Rewat Tana(wheelchair racing), ▲P Wahaham(wheelchair athlete  etc.

Nick Bhirombhakdi, President of the Paralympic Committee of Thailand who is also a senior management of Singha Corporation, made an extraordinary charity event "Bangkok City Run 2019"(part of the Singha Run Series) and showed the world that disabled people have great abilities in sports.

Led by the President of the Cerebral Palsy Sports Association of Thailand, Naiyanobh Bhirombhakdi, this marathon running event was held to raise funds to support Thai athletes with disabilities.

In this marathon match, 3,000 Thai marathon runners competed with 40 Thai athletes with disabilities. And truly amazing, disabled athlete won this match.  Surasak Dumchom (Shane), cerebral palsy disabled athlete won second place in an 8 km marathon race.

"I am very happy that one of the Cerebral Palsy athlete ranks second in one category. Our disabled athletes realize that we always support and support them with all our hearts," said Nick.Bhirombhakdi.

Nick Bhirombhakdi, Paralympic Committee of the Thailand Chief also revealed that his disabled athletes were fully prepared to take part in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. They had entered the qualification event regularly and would have training abroad.

Along 8 kilo meter there are interesting shows from Music Move artists such as Zel, Season Five, Ebola, Songkran Rangsan Panyaruen, Opavee etc.

And the night before the marathon event, Nick held a fundraising event to support Thailand's paralympics in the framework of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Which is for Boccia sports, the athlete who is also world number 1 champion Worawut Saengampa has already got a ticket to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic event and is ready to compete to represent Thailand.

Nick is an extraordinary person behind the struggle of his athletes with disabilities and feels like a father to them all.

And at this time he was elected to the Trustee board of AGITOS where his love for athletes with disabilities throughout the world.
